Line in from guitar amp not working
How do you hook up a 1 farad capacitor to your amp? Answer 1 You first have to determine which side of the cap is positive andwhich side is negative. You run a wire from the negative side tothe chassis and …for the positive side you run a cable from thebattery to the terminal and from the terminal to the amp. Be careful not to mix up positive and negative on the capbecause it could explode and cause damage.
Answer 2 Because the capacitor is used to filter changes in supply voltageto the amp, the capacitor should be as close to the amp aspossible, and connected with heavy wiring.
How to Hook Up Your M13 Using the 4 Cable Method. by el jefe de la cucina. on On my Marshall JCM DSL there is a loop level button in the back next to the effects loop send and return. M13 send – ND in – ND out – Amp input – M13 Return – Amp Fx Send – Amp Fx Return – M13 Out. Am I correct??? This way I will use the.
To try to get this working, I recently purchased a secondary amp with RCA inputs to power the extra speakers. The additional speakers 5 pairs are mounted in the ceilings throughout the house. I also have a speaker selector box so that I can select which room or rooms I want to send the sound to. The output can be mono. I just want some sound to the other rooms. Any ideas short of buying a new amp with a 2nd zone output? Thanks, -Rich DiPietro Hi, Rich, This is a question that we get from time to time for various receivers so I’ll answer for your specific receiver but will also give suggestions that would work for any receiver.
Obviously the best option to accomplish what you are trying to do would be to use a “Zone 2” line level output or a “B Speakers” speaker output if your receiver had either of these which it doesn’t. But there are other options. On some receivers, there are “tape output” or “preamp” outputs that could be connected to an external amplifier like the one you bought to drive the additional speakers.

Introducing the new Demeter Flip-Top! All wiring is contained within the unit, eliminating the need for an outside cable connecting the head and cab. It’s also equipped with four heavy duty casters to make transport a breeze! Operating size with casters is 19W X 14D X Passive tube tone controls Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence.
Speaker-level inputs are a standard of many two- and four-channel, and mono subwoofer amplifiers. A 2-channel amp will power two speakers (or a subwoofer); a 4 .
So you want to keep the factory amp? I wouldn’t suggest that. I’d recommend getting rid of the factory amp altogether, they’re usually not the best, and it would be difficult – if not impossible – for them to work together. I google’d for a quick sanity check and I’ll post a snippet from WikiAnswers: I know trying to figure out the same thing once. Plus most factory amps are just a plug of 16 gauge wires, and by time you through all of them to figure out power, ground, and remote, you still have to figure out how to send and input to your after market amp.
Lets say you did do it and figured it all out, once you turn your deck on the after market amp probably would go right into protect due to not having enough power
How to plug your iPOD (or MP3) into a guitar amp
This is necessary when one is adding an amplifier to a factory head unit, since factory head units do not have RCA outputs to get signals from. It consists of a transformer and 10 to 20 watts a high-voltage resistor and connects to amp by using RCA patch cable. The amplifier in the head unit is being loaded by the resistor. It has also an adjustable gain feature to pull output. Most of the line output converters have wire to ground the transformer.
AMP (Amplifier Management Processor) constantly checks the operating status system and communicates with the user through 4 different colored LEDs, located on the top panel; ART (Automatic Remote Turn On-Off) allows automatic turn-on/off when a remote signal isn’t available from the source; up to 24 dB/Oct. slope crossovers allow to build.
This amp is great – but Been playing keys in bands since The KC line has fixed that Read complete review Been playing keys in bands since The KC line has fixed that problem. I loved the sound of the KC , but hated the bulk. My choices would be distort, or get lost in the mix.

Sep 16, · Few subs have speaker-level outputs that pass through the signal from the amplifier to speakers, but generally the speaker-level input-output transition negatively impacts the signal. Very few subwoofers are passive, in which case you will have to dedicate an amplifier to these units and wire it up via speaker cable.
Additionally, subwoofers may have a low-pass filter which filters out any high frequencies so that they the subwoofer doesn’t try to play them. Depending on the subwoofer, this low-pass filter may be defeatable or may only work on the speaker level inputs. It just depends on the model, so read the subwoofer’s manual. It doesn’t matter which one since they get mixed together by the subwoofer.
Additionally, you should turn off the subwoofer’s low-pass filter since the amplifier takes care of that job. Stereo amplifiers, on the other hand, usually do not have an output jack specifically for LFE signals because they do not mix low frequencies into a signal channel like a home theater amplifier does. In this case, you can either connect the pre-out RCA jacks both left and right to the subwoofers RCA input jacks both left and right , or run another set of speaker wires for both the left and right channels from the amplifier’s speaker outputs to the subwoofer’s speaker inputs.
In either case, you will want to enable the subwoofer’s low-pass filter since you will be sending the full frequency spectrum to it. Yeah, i’ll be using a Stereo Amp, not a home receiver. So, if I buy a sub, I need to make sure it has “low pass filter”. I think I have my head around everything now!
Wiring 2-channel Rockford Fosgate Punch amplifiers
PA-Performance is widely know for their high performance charging and starting systems. They have specialized in high output alternators for the Mustang for nearly a decade. Now this is a amp 6G series alternator that comes complete with an internal voltage regulator and a pulley that allows you to reuse your factory belt. Although, I would recommend replacing your belt while you’re in the area, since you’re going to be replacing your alternator anyway.
This is a direct replacement that increases the charging capacity at all rpm ranges without any modification necessary. Providing amps of idle and amps at max.
Apr 05, · The amp is a Rockford Fosgate RX1D Prime 1-Channel Class D amp powering a single Rockford Fosgate P3 10″ sub RMS @ 2 ohms. I’m reading mixed reviews on the subject some forums I’ve visited say stay away from the LOC’s (unless using high end models) and use your amps high level input if equipped and vice-versa don"t use high level input : Resolved.
It shows on the picture by the two AC outputs 7 and 8. I cannot find a download for the manual so I cannot confirm that both of these AC outputs are milliamps but this is what it looks like from the data on their website. Will this damage the unit? The amp comes with FX loop but currently my new setup is running everything upfront.
I only want to gate my drive pedals and vibe. The pedals in use are as below: You want to set up a loop with the G String as follows: The output will drive your Strymon and Dyna Verb without any truncation of the delay or reverb and the output of these effects will feed the input of your amplifier.
MIXING AMPLIFIERS / KARAOKE MIXERS
An oldish thread but thought I would comment. First of all, those 68K resistors. They are there for damping radio frequency RF interference. They are called “grid stopper resistors” and all tube amps have them on the inputs from the external world. They prevent RF from getting onto the grid of the tube and being amplified.
The SNI Adjustable 2-Channel Line-Out Converter from PAC Audio is a line-out converter for factory radios with 2 to 50 watts per channel, accepts speaker level input and provides stereo RCA output signal for adding an aftermarket amplified audio s:
Car Audio Amplifier Troubleshooting A question often asked is how to troubleshoot a car audio amplifier that is not working. This is different than an amplifier that is in protection mode but it is related. If you believe you have everything connected properly but the amp doesn’t turn on, or if there is no output, these steps should help you track down the problem.
A car audio amplifier needs several things in order to work and we’ll check for each of these in the steps below. Is the amplifier mounted to a non-conductive surface? If the case of the amplifier is touching the metal of the vehicle, either directly through the case or through the mounting screws touching metal, there will likely be a problem. Usually this will put the amplifier in protection mode though sometimes it may not turn on at all.
First, ensure that the amplifier is not touching any conductive surface of the vehicle. Is the amplifier getting the correct power and ground? The amplifier needs a positive power input and a negative power output. The power to the amplifier must be able to get in and get out in order for anything to happen. If the wiring is not correct, if it is too small for the amplifier, if a connection is loose or if a fuse is blown you’ll get no output. If the amplifier has a built in fuse check that it is in good condition and not blown.
For example, a typical line out connection has an impedance from to ohms. The impedance bridging principle will be relevant when we discuss plugging an iPOD or MP3 player into a guitar amp below. Connections Unfortunately, it is not possible to simply look at the connection being used and determine the nominal signal level and impedance. The RCA or phono plug is also used to connect unbalanced line-level signals and is commonly seen in stereo equipment.
The 3-pin professional audio connector XLR is used with cables for balanced microphones and other balanced equipment. The stereo phone plug is used with stereo headphones and with balanced line-level cables.
Setting this up merely requires connecting the LFE (or subwoofer output) jack on the receiver/amplifier to the ‘Line In’ or ‘LFE In’ jack on the subwoofer. It’s usually just one cable with single RCA connectors on .
Direct connection – Dynamic microphone: Also, connect the AMP connector from the DI to the bass amplifier, so that sound also comes out of the bass amplifier. When using an active type DI one which requires a power supply and batteries are not used, you will need to use phantom power. Turn the phantom power on in the same way as with the condenser microphone. Some DI boxes are passive, while others are active meaning they need power either from a battery or from the mixer’s phantom power supply.
You may hear less noise by connecting the keyboard using a DI instead. Microphone setting – Set up microphone stands at each vocal microphone position, and place the microphones.
